Types of New Zealand Visitor Visas We Assist With

Understanding which visa category fits your travel purpose is the first step. Here are the main types of visitor visas you can apply for, with our guidance:

General Visitor Visa (Tourism & Family Visits)

The most common visa for travellers, the General Visitor Visa allows you to stay in New Zealand for tourism, to visit friends or relatives, or to undertake short-term study (up to 3 months). You may be granted a stay of up to 9 months within an 18-month period.

Business Visitor Visa

This visa allows you to visit New Zealand for business activities such as meetings, conferences, or negotiations. It does not permit employment or receiving income from a New Zealand employer.

If a New Zealand citizen or resident is inviting you and will cover your accommodation or expenses, you may be eligible for a Sponsored Visitor Visa. This is often used by parents or extended family members coming for longer visits.

Group Visitor Visa

Traveling in a tour group or as part of an organized delegation? The Group Visitor Visa simplifies the process by allowing a single application for the group.

Visitor Visa for Partners and Dependent Children

Partners and dependent children of temporary visa holders (e.g., work or student visas) can apply to join their loved one on a Visitor Visa for the same duration.

Medical Treatment Visitor Visa

If you’re traveling to New Zealand to undergo medical treatment or a health consultation, this visa allows temporary entry for the duration of your care.

NZeTA – New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority

If you’re from a visa-waiver country, you don’t need a full visitor visa but must obtain an NZeTA before travel. This allows tourism or business visits for up to 3 months.
