I am Mamta, originally from India. I am currently studying in New Zealand.

New Zealand itself is a multi-cultural nation, with a fusion of Maori (the indigenous people), Pacific Island, European and Asian people combining to make a vibrant and colourful society.

New Zealanders are well traveled, with a great interest in people from other cultures, so visitors and international students soon feel more than welcome. When it comes to cost, New Zealand offers very affordable tuition fee as compared to many other countries around the world.

New Zealand qualifications are of a high quality and have a reputation around the world for its quality and being practical. I chose New Zealand because it is a superb study destination. New Zealand is a peaceful and natural place to live and study. It offers a safe learning environment, which provides excellent study opportunities and support services for international students. It is an environmentally friendly country known for its beautiful islands.

My Queenstown trip:

During my stay here till date, I visited Dunedin, Bluff and Queenstown. Recently, I got a chance to visit Queenstown on the new year eve. I went by car. I enjoyed the beautiful sight seeing while going from Invercargill to Queenstown.

I went to A J Hackett- Bungy jumping site but did not try it because of my initial fear. Now I have decided, I will definitely do bungy jumping on my next visit to Queenstown. I also visited Arrowtown; a small but beautiful town, just a few km’s away from Queenstown. Arrowtown is known for its gold river and historic heritage Chinese settlement. I came to know about the history of Chinese settlement in Southern New Zealand. The gold river in Arrowtown is called Arrow river. There was one cafe called Dudley’s cafe where you may try your gold panning skills. While talking to a very friendly cafe person I came to know that we could able to get some tuition on how to do gold panning and hire special equipment for gold panning. Unfortunately, we were short of time so couldn’t do that. Surely, that’s another addition to my To-do list when visiting Queenstown next.

Later in the evening, we went to lakeside in Queenstown and enjoyed the live bands. A lot of people were already enjoying and dancing to the tunes of lovely music. At 12:00 midnight, we enjoyed watching fireworks which went from the middle of the lake from a boat creating an amazing view for thousands of people standing around the lakeside.

I must say, this was my best ever new year eve I spent, which was full of amazing sightseeing, music, fireworks and most importantly friendly people.
